In today’s historical photo, a great shot of brothers Tom and Don Mann dating back to 1976. It’s probably safe to say that Tom is the more recognized “Mann” of the pair, but at the time, both were fishing the Bassmaster tournament trail.
Don actually fished 25 events between 1974 and 1983 according to Bassmaster records, making 2 Classic appearances, and garnering 13 Top 10 finishes, accumulating just over $5,000 in winnings.
By contrast, brother Tom tallied over 100 B.A.S.S. events fished, had 7 Classic appearances, finished in the money 50 times with 80 percent of those being Top 10 finishes, and collecting over $36,000 in winnings, including 2 Invitational victories. Tom was also front and center with Mann’s Bait Company, as well as Allied Sports Company, which was responsible for the Humminbird depth finder.
