The Bassmaster AOY race was headed by two-year pro Jimmy Houston with Bill Dance in a close second. Tommy Martin, Don Mann and Roger Moore rounded out the top 5.

Also notice the major names missing from the top-50 as of this time. Roland Martin hadn’t even finished in the points by the halfway mark and Tom Mann was sitting in 42nd place with two paltry finishes that awarded him points.

The second day of the event Thomas made a run for the Theodosia area and put eight bass in the boat for 15-14, the top daily weight of the tournament.

Tommy had eight bass, but as in the prior days, his fish were much bigger. His weight of 15-06, the biggest of the event, would give him a total of 33-07 and the win at Classic IV.

In the February ’75 issue of Bassmaster Magazine, B.A.S.S. not only gave the Classic report, the magazine also dedicated a substantial number of pages to the Classic qualifiers with respect to their bios. We’re going to go through these bios and touch on the anglers’ accomplishments up to this point in time.
