In today’s Friday Finale we have a big bass photo from the 1972 Alabama Fresh Water Fishing Rodeo. The picture is part of a May 15 article in The Huntsville Times out of Alabama, and shows the 1972 Lake Eufaula winning bass in the tournament. It’s a 10.38-pound largemouth that was caught and is being held by angler Jimmy Trawick. Trawick holds his big bass in one hand and his trophy in the other. What makes the story even more interesting is that Trawick caught the fish, and only this fish, on the Saturday morning of the tournament. After catching the lunker, Trawick stopped fishing! He went to the weigh-in dock and waited for the tournament to end, hoping and believing that his lone fish would take the grand prize.
